The Orange Public Library’s Homebound Delivery Service provides library materials to residents who live in the City of Orange who are unable to get to the library because of a disability or illness.  Volunteers donate their time to deliver materials straight to your doorstep.  There is no fee for this service.

Homebound Delivery Service

Who is eligible for this service?

  • Individuals who live in the City of Orange who are unable to get to the library because of a disability or illness
  • Individuals confined to home by an illness or injury expected to last three months or more
  • Individuals with a physical or mental disability that prevents transportation to the library
    • **Note: Individuals who have recovered from their illness or injury are no longer eligible for the Homebound Delivery Service

Who will deliver my materials?

  • Your assigned volunteer will select, deliver, and return materials based on your interest profile from the initial interview
  • You work directly with your volunteer to schedule a delivery time and date that works best for both of you
  • Volunteers go through a background process

  • Large Print Books
  • Audiobooks (Fiction and Non-Fiction)
  • Foreign Language Materials
  • Instructional Kits
