The Teen Innovation Lab is a technology learning space located at the Orange Public Library & History Center that brings together the computers, software and other technology used for audio production, movies, photo editing, and more.

Teens can learn and create while experimenting with new technologies. The Teen Innovation Lab provides access to specialized equipment, along with opportunities to learn from experts, practice skills and build portfolios.

Labs are available, by reservation, for self-service. Basic information about Teen Innovation Lab resources can be provided by library staff and classes for in-depth instruction will be offered periodically.

Access to the Teen Innovation Lab is for teens (grades 7-12) with an Orange Public Library card in good standing.

Reservations

Teens can reserve time in the Teen Innovation Lab by calling (714) 288-2418 or by visiting the Information Desk. Reservations are for two hours with a limit of one reservation per day and can be made up to one month in advance. Walk-in reservations may be available.

To make a reservation, teens will need:

A library card in good standing.
Software and equipment requested.
Names of additional teens (no more than four per reservation).

Reservations in the Teen Innovation Lab are first come, first served.

The Teen Innovation Lab is currently taking reservations during the following times:

Monday - Wednesday 10:30 am - 7:30 pm

Thursday - Saturday 10:30 am - 5:30 pm

Teen Innovation Lab Policy

Using the Teen Innovation Lab constitutes an agreement by the user to all terms listed within the Teen Innovation Lab Policy.

No food or drink in the Teen Innovation Lab
No more than 4 teens per a reservation.
User must have a current Orange Public Library card in good standing and be enrolled in grades 7-12.
The Teen Innovation Lab is reserved for patrons using Teen Innovation Lab software who are working on digital media projects (videos, music, websites, photo editing, audio-recordings).
The individual who reserves the Teen Innovation Lab will be responsible for any damages. If they are under the age of 18, their parent or legal guardian will be responsible.
The Library’s Rules of Conduct and Computer Internet Use Policies apply to the Teen Innovation Lab. Failure to comply will result in loss of Teen Innovation Lab privileges.
