Wars, or armed conflicts between countries and other groups of people, break out for various reasons. These reasons can include economic gain, territorial expansion, religious or cultural reasons, political balances of power, and more. Ongoing global conflicts in the past year alone have directly impacted the lives of 100s of millions of people. What is happening can be frightening for both kids and adults! As conflicts arise or escalate in various parts of the world, children may hear and see things in the news or on social media, which can lead them to feel overwhelmed and afraid. Talking as a family can provide an opportunity to navigate concerns and emotions.
